Detox Over

Well, I stayed a little longer than planned for detox but am home and should be hearing when I can be admitted to the long-term (30-45 days) in-patient treatment. I want to thank everyone who has left comments and I want you to know that I've felt your love and prayers. Alcoholism has once again made a big mess of my life, but I am 100% committed to my recovery first and foremost above anything, everything, anyone and everyone. If I don't have my recovery, I don't have anything. I will write again before I leave and again, thank you so much for your encouragement.

Welcome home, Angela. Glad you are home and committed. You know we are quitting together, don't you? I have 2 weeks. I sent you an email just to let you know how much this blog has meant to me. I've read every posting - for you and Thailand Gal.

Without your honest sharing, I don't know if I could have gotten or been able to remain sober.

You are choosing life - and I can't think of anything I am more grateful for this morning. I have a "feeling" about this.. and you are definitely on the right track!

Angela,
You are a strong woman, thank you for sharing your thoughts here. If only I could express in words how much it helps me as a struggling alcoholic. My thoughts are with you.

Hi Angela, I feel bad that I haven't called you sooner. So sorry that you are in pain. Thinking of you and praying for you! Actually I think about you almost every morning when I read "Daily Reflections" b/c this month has been especially "nurturing" reflections. Hope we can talk before you go to treatment!! Love you always! Shaun

I am here from Chani ~ Any addiction is a challenge to overcome. To put ones self first. Especially as women, we aren't raised that way. Be good to yourself, take care of yourself, and find peace.

Blessings ~ Leann

Thanks so much to all of you. I'm kind of speechless.

My friend and I were recently talking about how technology has become so integrated in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory gets cheaper, the possibility of uploading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.
